Responsibilities

The Town of Vinton Community Programs/Facilities Department is responsible for:

• Town of Vinton community events
• Printed Town Calendars
• Vinton War Memorial
• Charles R. Hill Community Center and the Vinton Senior Citizens' Program
• Vinton Farmers' Market
• "High Ground": The Vinton-Roanoke County Veterans Monument

Special Events

The Community Programs/Facilities Department's special events include the annual Fourth of July Celebration and events held at the Vinton Farmers' Market. The market features a variety of events including Arts and Crafts shows for buying and selling original art and handmade crafts, and Shake, Bake and Sprout for children. This department also assists with the Vinton Dogwood Festival, Trick or Treat in Downtown Vinton, Christmas Parade, and many other events.

Street closing permit information may be obtained by contacting the Community Programs/Facilities Department at 540-983-0645.
